The Propel Competency Framework

What is the Propel Competency Framework?

The Propel Competency Framework is a comprehensive behavioural framework that applies to all roles, levels, and organisations, and reflects current and future behavioural requirements.

It includes widely used competencies such as Judgement and Communication in addition to recently emerging behaviour sets such as Digital Fluency, Learning Agility and Valuing Diversity. 

The Propel Competency Framework forms the foundation of many of our product solutions while also providing a starting point for clients looking to introduce or refresh their own Competency Frameworks for use across all Talent Management applications.

What does the Propel Competency Framework Cover?

In total, there are 16 competencies in the Propel Competency Framework, divided into four clusters:

​The Propel Competency Framework includes behavioural indicators that show what the competency looks like at the Individual Contributor, Manager and Leader Level.

How was the Propel Competency Framework developed?

​The Propel Competency Framework is based on extensive academic and practical research and benchmarking. It also draws on the Propel team’s insight from our work with public and private sector organisations globally. The competencies themselves are designed to be discrete and are underpinned by the latest research around personality and individual differences, to ensure that they can be measured meaningfully and reliably.
