We are looking for a world class Senior Software Engineer to join our rapidly growing global talent management consultancy, based in our offices in Dubai, UAE. If you regard yourself as a solution-focused, resilient developer and you are passionate about working for an innovative talent management consultancy, then we are very keen to hear from you.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be part of the Global IT Team and will be responsible for various tasks related to the evolution and maintenance of Propel International’s proprietary web-based HR portal.
Role: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Position: Full-Time 

Key Activities:

Essential Criteria:

  • Develop new modules and features to meet requirements
  • Deliver clean, well-tested code with an emphasis on readability and maintainability
  • Perform technical impact analysis on existing code
  • Implement solutions based on architecture best practices and design patterns
  • Investigate bugs and other support issues raised by clients and consultants
  • Work with consultants to understand requirements and business needs in order to build the most suitable solution
  • Estimate work and break requirements into deliverable tasks
  • Manage workload, follow process and deliver to deadlines
  • Be aware of technology costs and focus on cost-effective solutions at all time
  • Play an integral part of the team, working with colleagues, consultants and other stakeholders to achieve results
  • Undergraduate Degree in IT
  • Relevant qualifications in programming
  • English (native-level proficiency essential)
  • 10 years’ experience in software development & testing
  • Knowledge in Microsoft ASP.Net, including Web Forms and MVC
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and design, Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred
  • Knowledge in solution architecture principles and design patterns
  • Occasional international travel may be required

Desirable Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • Knowledge and experience in HR Technology Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in UI design
  • Knowledge and experience in API creation and web-services integration
  • Advanced communication skills – specifically presentational and written skills
  • Task orientated, conscientious, innovative, a lateral thinker, solution-focused, resilient, energetic (enthusiastic about challenge), self-disciplined, takes initiative, and has a high attention to detail
  • Motivated by achieving results, opportunity to think creatively, career growth and development, and working collaboratively within a team
  • Able to cope with change and shifting priorities, ambiguity, meeting strict deadlines and managing multiple projects at one time
  • Multi-lingual
